Hillsdale College

We are visiting this college tomorrow. I am excited, I have talked to many people and
they all rave aboout Hillsdale. We are driving all the way from Rockford, Illinois to
Hillsdale Michigan, which will be at least a 5-6 hour drive. We are going to split the driving, my mom and I, and are going to try to avoid Chicago traffic as much as possible. The next day we are taking a ferry from Ludington, Michigan to somewhere near Appleton, Michigan, where we will visit Lawrence college. Then we are going to drive all the way from Appleton, Michigan back home to St. Paul.

Then next week I will continue working as a Science Museum Camp Conselor and will be doing a camp called "Camp Crawler" which should be very interesting.

Well Fun Stuff. This blogs third birthday is also coming up quickly. Well only about 4-5 weeks left of summer and not much free time.

Band-Aid bandit captured

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) -- The Band-Aid Bandit -- a stick-up artist who robbed 40 Florida banks over the past 5« years, often while wearing on a bandage on his cheek -- was finally captured Thursday, authorities said.

Rafael Angel Rondon, 50, was arrested at his home in Clermont and charged with three of the holdups attributed to the Band-Aid Bandit.

He was identified by his license plate, which was captured on surveillance cameras outside a Pinellas Park bank robbed last week, authorities said. Also, authorities said Rondon's handprint was found at the scene of what was believed to be the bandit's first robbery, committed in 2000.

The Band-Aid Bandit sometimes carried a silver-colored revolver, and made off with about half a million dollars. Investigators said Rondon used a bandage in many robberies to cover a mole on this left cheek.

Before detectives started calling him the Band-Aid Bandit, he was known as the Beer Belly Bandit.

Agents also arrested 54-year-old Emeregildo Roman on charges he joined the Band-Aid Bandit in several of the robberies.

Rookie Liriano replaces Conteras on AL All-Star roster

Sweet!

Rookie sensation Francisco Liriano is headed to the All-Star Game after all.

Liriano was certainly deserving of the honor. He is 10-1 with a 1.83 ERA, allowing just 63 hits in 88 1/3 innings with 102 strikeouts.

Liriano joins two other Twins -- fellow left-hander Johan Santana and catcher Joe Mauer -- on the AL All-Star team.

Contreras is 9-0 with a 3.38 ERA but started Sunday's game against Boston and would not have been available to pitch on Tuesday.
